Facebook’s former sustainability director and Google’s former clean energy czar Bill Weihl has called on businesses to “go beyond their own four walls” and lobby for policies that create net-zero national economies in a “just” manner. Speaking at The Business Booster in Paris last month alongside Mary Robinson, former Irish President and incumbent chair of the UN Elders, Weihl was asked to give a brief summary of where he believed corporate leadership on climate justice currently sits, and what more must now be done to deliver a just transition to net-zero.
“The circular economy is not only respectful of the environment, but it can mean saving billions of euros,” said Jules Coignard, the director and co-founder of the circular economy platform Circul’r at a conference on the circular economy yesterday at the Barcelona campus of TBS Business School. Founded in 2014, Circul’r is a Paris-based network of over 500 companies around the world in the circular economy. Its platform connects startups and companies to co-create circular economy solutions.
HP says it is serious about fueling its reinvention through a strong recycling policy it calls Sustainable Impact that aims to meet some lofty goals. The company invited members of the press across the Americas to witness the process in which old HP printers, cartridges, laptops, desktops and other products bearing its logo undergo a recycling regimen.
