Stacey Cassidy: Development of modular a key step on the road towards sustainable housing

The program offers convenient ways to dispose of hard-to-recycle waste from home, earning first place in the Corporate Social Responsibility Campaign category of Ragan’s PR Daily Awards. Ninety-one percent of plastic produced has not been recycled and 8 million metric tons of plastic waste are dumped into our oceans every year. Global health, hygiene and home company, RB North America, wanted to do its part to address this issue, with its Healthy You, Healthy Planet™ partnership with TerraCycle.

For a society accustomed to the achievements of a linear economy, the transition to a circular economic system is a hard task even to contemplate. Although the changes needed may seem daunting, it is important to remember that we have already come a long way. However, the history of the waste hierarchy has taught that political perseverance and unity of approach are essential to achieving long term visions in supply chain management. Looking back, it is helpful to view the significance of the Lansink’s Ladder in the light of the sustainability gains it has already instigated.
