The metal recycling industry is growing, and it’s a race for recycling companies to get the right candidates learning the ropes of this niche sector. In today’s market, there are roughly ten jobs for every individual candidate actively seeking work, making specialist support a must for most businesses. The sustainable apparel designer and merchandiser Merchant Tailor has joined forces with Ferdinand von Hapsburg, the APR racing driver, to launch the APR team kit, sourced from ocean plastic and other recycled materials. The collection of sweats, tees and caps celebrates Hapsburg’s recent gear change to offset his carbon emissions to a tenth of a tonne.
Merchant Tailor and Hapsburg will collaborate on a series of new sustainable collections, they said in a joint press release. The apparel designer has also announced the launch of its own brand 8SIX400, a sustainable, motorsport apparel collection made entirely from recycled materials. The number 86400 refers to the number of seconds in a 24-hour day.
HP says it is serious about fueling its reinvention through a strong recycling policy it calls Sustainable Impact that aims to meet some lofty goals. The company invited members of the press across the Americas to witness the process in which old HP printers, cartridges, laptops, desktops and other products bearing its logo undergo a recycling regimen.
Physicians for Social Responsibility in Pennsylvania will host a half-day virtual conference– Cradle to Grave: Health Hazardous Of The Oil and Gas Industry in Pennsylvania– on December 10 from Noon to 4:30 p.m. The Conference will focus on worker’s often uninformed exposure to chemicals and radioactivity, the exposure to their family, and throughout their community, and beyond. The speakers will include: Dr. Carl Werntz, Occupational Physician; Wilma Subra, Environmental Scientist; Lee McCaslin, Master Driller; Justin Nobel and Kristen Locy, Investigative Journalists; Dusty Horwitt, PSR consultant and attorney; Paul “Bobby” Manion, Wayne State University/PSR PA Research on Radioactive Emissions. The panel discussion will be moderated by Dr. Pouné Saberi.
