Wastefront AS is today announcing an exclusive long-term project delivery partnership with Devaltec LLC, a project developer and solutions provider in new and sustainable energies.  Devaltec, which was first introduced to Wastefront by Vitol in 2019, will now act as the primary strategic partner to Wastefront and will co-lead the development of all upcoming projects for the next 5 years. Devaltec is contracted to successfully deliver production from multiple plants of minimum 1000 MTD, commencing with Wastefront’s first waste tyre recycling plant in Sunderland, due for completion in 2023.

The International Association of Ports and Harbors is pleased to announce its call for entries to the third edition of the World Ports Sustainability Awards, with winners to be declared in five categories at a Gala Dinner at the IAPH 2021 World Ports Conference in Antwerp between 23rd and 25th June next year.

The European Union warned consumers to stop using their clothes like throwaway items and said on Wednesday that it plans to counter the polluting use of mass-market fast fashion.  New rules proposed by the EU’s executive arm call for a mandatory minimum use of recycled fibres by 2030 and would ban the destruction of many unsold products.  The European Commission rules also seek to contain the release of microplastics and improve global labour conditions in the garment industry.  “We want sustainable products to become the norm,” commission Vice President Frans Timmermans said.  “The clothes we wear should last longer than three washes.”
